Frontera was the first collaboration of Juan Campodónico (along with Carlos Casacuberta) with the Spanish-based Uruguayan singer/songwriter Jorge Drexler. The album was produced by Campodónico and Casacuberta and recorded in Uruguay.
Frontera, with its mix of electronica, folk and Rio de la Plata rhythms, changed the path of Drexler's career. It was very successful in Spain and was the beginning of Drexler's massive popularity in Argentina.
